Your Ring, Perfectly Fitted: Our 1-Year Size Adjustment Promise
Getting your ring size right the first time isn’t always straightforward. Fingers change with weather, time of day, and even what you’ve eaten. That’s completely normal. What matters is that your ring feels comfortable and secure when you wear it.
We’ve put together this guide to explain exactly how our sizing service works for different types of rings. No confusing jargon, just the practical details you need to know.
Quick Guide: What Can Be Resized?
Before diving into the details, here’s the simple version:
- Plain metal bands (no stones) → Usually straightforward, free within 2 sizes
- Rings with diamonds or gems → Needs checking first, but often possible
- Half eternity rings → Requires assessment, may need remaking
- Full eternity rings → Cannot be resized, must be exchanged
Now let’s look at each type properly.
Engagement Rings & Diamond Jewellery
If your ring is a plain band with no diamonds or gemstones set into it, we’ll resize it at no cost within 1-Year of you receiving it. This covers going up or down by up to two full sizes. Need to go further than that? There’s a flat fee of $45 to cover the extra work and materials.
For rings that do have diamonds or gemstones (including any custom-made pieces), things work a little differently. Because every stone-set ring is unique, we need to take a proper look first. Sometimes resizing is simple. Other times, the design might mean we need to remake the ring entirely to get the size right while keeping everything secure.
Good news either way: within 1-Year, adjusting up to two sizes is still free. If you need more than that, the minimum charge starts at $45. We’ll always confirm the exact cost with you before going ahead.
Eternity Rings: What You Should Know
These rings are beautiful but they come with their own rules because of how they’re made.
Full eternity rings have stones running all the way around. This means there’s no plain metal to safely cut and solder. Think of it like a complete circle of gems — there’s simply nowhere to make an adjustment without compromising the setting. So resizing isn’t possible. Instead, within 1-Year of receiving your ring, we can replace it with the correct size. The price difference between sizes applies, with a minimum charge of $45. If you’re unsure about your size with an eternity ring, do get in touch before ordering — we’re happy to help you get it right first time.
Half and three-quarter eternity rings sit in the middle. Some can be resized, some cannot. It really depends on exactly how far the stones extend and how the ring was constructed. We’ll always assess it first and be honest with you about whether resizing is possible or if a remake makes more sense. Costs depend on the work needed, starting from $45.
Wedding Bands
Simple wedding rings without stones follow the same straightforward approach: complimentary resizing within two sizes during the first 1-Year, and a $45 fee beyond that.
If your wedding band has diamonds or gems, we’ll need to check it over first. Some settings handle resizing beautifully. Others are more delicate and need a different approach. We won’t know until we see the ring, so we always build in that inspection step before quoting anything.
Custom-Made Rings
Because every custom ring is designed specifically for you, each one tells us its own story when it comes to resizing. We offer one free size adjustment within 1-Year (up or down by two sizes) provided the design allows it. If you need to go further, it’s $45.
Sometimes a design simply cannot be resized without changing its character. In those cases, we’ll talk you through the options — which might include remaking the ring. You’ll never be surprised by unexpected costs; we discuss everything with you first.
Sending Your Ring Back: A Simple Walkthrough
If you need that complimentary resize, here’s how to make it smooth:
- Write a short note including your order number, your name, contact details, and the exact size you need. Something simple like “Order #00111 — please adjust from size N to size P” works perfectly.
- Pack it carefully using the original box if you still have it, or something similar in size. The goal is to stop the ring moving around during transit.
- Choose a courier you trust and pay for tracking and full insurance. Your ring has value, and it deserves to travel safely.
- Send it to:
No. 88, Shanan Road, Shatou Village, Shatou Street, Panyu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China
One thing that matters: please do not write anything like “diamonds” or “jewellery” on the outside of the package. A plain, discreet box is safest.
If You’re Sending for Repairs
The address is the same, but please pop a note inside explaining what you’d like fixed. Once it’s on its way, email the tracking number and dispatch date to Info@symarajewellery.com so we know to expect it.
