With 75% pure gold, 18k gold is our sweet spot. It’s rich enough to hold a profound color and soft lustre, yet resilient enough for a lifetime of wear. We find it takes engraving more crisply than 14k and develops a beautiful, personal patina. It’s our canvas for most heirloom pieces.
Platinum is for those who speak through substance. Denser and heavier than gold, it’s hypoallergenic and uniquely durable. It doesn’t wear away; it simply moves, developing a soft, satin-like patina that many of our clients come to cherish. We can always polish it back to a high shine for you, but most prefer its lived-in character.

Purchasing a SYMARA band is the start of a relationship. We stand behind the work with a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. This means complimentary resizing, polishing, and minor repairs—not as a service, but as our ongoing commitment to the piece you entrusted us to make.
We’ll also share simple, honest care instructions. For example, a soft toothbrush and mild soap work better than most commercial cleaners. And we always welcome your band back for an annual “check-up” at our bench.
It depends on your life and values. Platinum is rarer, denser (so it feels substantial), and maintains its color without plating. White gold is lighter and brilliant, but requires rhodium plating every few years to stay silvery-white. For a set-it-and-forget-it piece worn daily, we often steer clients toward platinum.
Come feel them. But as a rule: 2-4mm is delicate, 4-6mm is classic, 6-8mm makes a bold statement. For comfort, we gently dome the interior of every band, especially important on widths over 6mm.
